Consultation Meetings ~ how they work...

Every couple and every wedding is different (and beautiful).  That’s why when I talk with couples about their big day, I suggest we meet first to get a sense of how we could best work together.  Many couples are first concerned with pricing, this is difficult to predict before we talk together about your needs, ideas and the impact you want to have for your big day.

Things we’ll talk about at our first meeting:

  1. Are we a good fit for each?  Meeting in person is a great way to see if we’d work well together, and I really like to build relationships with my clients.  So, this first meeting is an integral part of my consultative approach to wedding and event design.

  2. You help me understand what you desire for your big event and share your overall vision.  This gives me a chance to ask questions and answer questions you may have.  I'll show you some samples and see what you really inspires you.

  3. Shared expectations.  We’ll talk about what we both expect from our professional relationship and this first conversation will be the base for which our future work together is built on.  This makes for a seamless client/designer relationship.

Things we don’t talk about at our first meeting:

  1. Price – it’s difficult to give you a quote at our first meeting.  It also may take me a bit of time to develop a comprehensive quote for you, as there are many factors to be considered.  The quoting process is highly consultative and even when I provide you with a quotation, we can adjust as required to fit your needs, and budget, well before our event design contract is signed.

  2. Exact design specifics – as a highly creative designer, my design ideas build on each other and your feedback.  So, as we work through the event design process together, we create a custom design that reflects both your style and mine.

The first meeting we have is generally 1 hour at my beautiful home studio.  I’ll show you some designs, share my style personality and we’ll get to know each other.
